BIOGRAPHY

Theodore (Theo) Tom is an eighth grader who is passionate about visual art and enjoys creating art in many different mediums, such as drawing, sketching, painting, sewing, collage, sculpture, printmaking, and animation. Among these mediums, Theo is most fond of drawing, painting, and animation.

In his work, he analyzes haphazard arrangements of objects that pique his interest and tries to replicate them as accurately, or as realistically, as possible. In addition to still-life drawing, he is also interested in the way authors immerse us into fantastical worlds through enriching stories. From a young age, he has always been inspired by literary works by J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, and C.S. Lewis. Their novels always seemed to transport him into unique otherworldly realms that always left a deep impression on his imagination. As an artist, he hopes to convey this feeling through his other works and give viewers the chance at experiencing this fascinating phenomenon.

Always seeking new opportunities, Theo has had the chance to learn from established artists in San Francisco through the Sharon Art Studio, Arc Gallery & Studios, and the California College of the Arts.

In high school, Theo hopes to grow in his aptitude for visual art and to explore the technical arts.
